MINDFULNESS

As well as resetting the nervous system, mindfulness exercises can improve a client’s understanding of their own body and help change habits to improve vocal health. It also improves efficiency of movement for non-vocal performers including dancers and instrumentalists.

Mindfulness is commonly used to treat social anxiety disorders such as Generalised Anxiety Disorder, Depression and Musical Performance Anxiety (MPA). Unsurprisingly, MPA is a common contributor to vocal ill-health and injury.

DID YOU KNOW?

Musicians who perform mindfully report a sense of more time during a performance in which to play with dynamics and phrasing and generally enjoy themselves - as well as feeling able to notice errors without worrying about them.

I can help alleviate the symptoms of MPA and get you performing freely and enjoyably again.

Mindfulness is not suitable for everyone. I thoroughly triage all my clients to determine the best way to help them.
